ADHD IS A JOURNEY
Is ADHD impacting you and/or your child's life and it's hard to know where to turn? Leaning into your strengths as you Investigate the struggles will allow you to discover how to thrive as you find what works best for your brain!
Learning and responding to your ADHD brain surely is a lifelong journey to navigate. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 10. It left me feeling very alone and different. This is what sparked my passion as an ADHD Life Coach! I struggled with reading as a child, which ignited my desire to become a Reading Specialist, to face this weakness head on and to turn it into a strength. I wrote "Hi, It's Me! I have ADHD" and my brother drew the illustrations, based on personal experiences and wanting help one child at a time know they are not along in how they think and feel.
To build my credibility, I'd like you to know that I am a Certified Early Childhood/Special Education Teacher and taught for 7 years before choosing to stay home to invest in my 4 little blessings. I am now pursuing my #1 passion of helping individuals on their journey as an ADHD Life Coach. I also use my masters as a Reading Specialist to tutor children of all ages, with a variety of needs. I have a deep passion for working with children who are struggling to know that they are not defined by their diagnosis. I want children to feel empowered to find strength beneath the struggles. I also want parents, siblings, educators, and peers to be fully educated and encouraged to see more clearly through the lens of ADHD!
J. Charles Friedel is my insanely talented brother, who is a freelance artist focusing on illustration and design. He often works in mixed media and found objects. Based in the Chicagoland area, my bro lives with his wife and three children! Growing up with me as his older sister, chatting and moving around him, offered an all too comprehensive understanding of ADHD. This personal connection made working on this project even more fun and unique from an insiders perspective.
